The old table was used on an old plantation farm where it was used to butcher meat and prepare food for large families and a large number of farm hands. The table is made of mixed wood which looks to be fir and poplar. The six legs are hand cut and are very sturdy. The top is three boards and they are very thick and strong. The top shows many years of use and wear. The table has a great deal of character and looks great. The table at one time had a meat grinder on one end, the hole is still in the side and the mortise joint in the leg is still there. The old table has been professionally refinished and really looks great. The table has four drawers that are spacious and will lold a lot of items.
